Based on your IP, this is your Current Location

Why would you need to know your IP address ? Some of the reasons which I can think of:

  • Your developer wants to know your public IP
  • Your network engineers wants to add your IP to a firewall
  • IP address are tied to location. So its a good way to find out hat the websites know about your location
  • You want to test your anonymizer

    • A IP address is a number assigned to your computer. If you have more than one computer then each of them have one IP address. There can be one of two configurations in a typical home:

  • An ISP supplied modem with a router with one or more computers behind it
  • AN ISP supplied modem directly connecting to your computer

    • The computers in your home network would have IP address generally starting with 10.xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx or 192.xxx.xxx.xxx

    The IP address assigned to your broadband modem is what the world sees you as. This IP is there on the top of the screen.
